AAAF Establishes Roger Ruth Scholarship Fund

At the request of the family of Roger Ruth, PhD, the American Academy of Audiology Foundation has established the Roger Ruth Memorial Scholarship Fund to support audiology graduate students. This fund has been created as a fitting tribute to Dr. Ruth as a teacher, mentor, and leader in audiology education for the past 30 years. He had a passion for fostering future hearing scientists, and this fund will ensure that his legacy supports audiologists for many years to come.

In working with the AAAF to establish the Ruth Scholarship, Dr. James Hall, III, long-time friend and colleague of Dr. Ruth stated, "In this time of sadness and helplessness, his friends can take considerable consolation in focusing on this tangible, lasting, and very meaningful tribute to Roger."

Additionally, Dr. Ruth was a founder of the American Academy of Audiology, served the organization and profession in many other capacities over the years, and received the Academy's Distinguished Achievement Award in 2008. He was also a regular supporter of the AAA Foundation and its programs in research, education, and public awareness.
