AudiologyNOW!® 2015 Foundation Events

Auction 4 Audiology (Bidding Begins Mon., March 16 and Ends Fri., March 27, 6:30pm CT)

Pull out your Lincoln Skins and bid on a wide range of items available through the Foundation's Auction 4 Audiology.  Rock and roll memorabilia, gift cards, and audiology items are just a few examples of what you can talk turkey over.  Bid online, in person at Academy Central, on your smartphone, on your tablet or anywhere you have internet access.  Interested in donating an item?  Submit a 2015 Auction Form to Rachael Sifuentes or call 703-226-1048.

Lights. Camera. Action! This year, the Foundation is "Shining a Light" on all of our donors. Stop by Academy Central to receive a commemorative pen light in honor of your contribution!

Wednesday, March 25

Foundation Day Benefit (Wed., March 25, 4:00-5:00pm CT)

Come listen to some Rock and Roll, and join in the fun with the Foundation Day Benefit Band, made up of Foundation donors. It's the perfect opportunity to kick back and raise your spurs (and funds) in support of the Foundation! There is no cost.

Happy Hour Benefit (Wed., March 25, 6:00-7:30pm CT)

Say "howdy" to friends old and new at the annual Happy Hour benefit! Join the festivities, and share wine and snacks while watching the Texas sunset from the balcony at the Presidio Room at the Grand Hyatt. Tickets are $85 for members and $35 for students until March 24, and can be purchased by calling the Foundation office (703.226.1049). The 2015 Happy Hour is underwritten by Phonak LLC…thank you!

Cheers for Ears (Wed., March 25, 8:00-9:30pm CT)

Cowpokes both young and young-at-heart will enjoy the SAA benefit celebration at Pat O'Brien's on Alamo Plaza. Network with students from around the country, help raise funds for SAA programs and have 'ten-gallon' fun! Get your tickets at the Registration counter in the San Antonio convention center; tickets are $25 for students and $40 for members. Underwriting support for this SAA benefit is provided by Alpaca Audiology, Phonak LLC, Oticon, Inc., ReSound, and Widex.

Innovation in Workplace Management Lecture (Thu., March 26, 3:00-6:00pm CT)

Dan Veto, MBA, of Age Wave will present How the Age Wave Will Transform Health, Healthcare and Our Lives which will offer valuable insights for use in any practice setting.  Earn .3 CEUs (ABA Certificants: Tier 1) at this session or, for those unable to attend AudiologyNOW!, view a live Web seminar of the lecture through eAudiology.  The presentation will also be available on-demand.  Philanthropic support provided by Phonak LLC.  

Honors and Awards Banquet (Thu., March 26, 6:30-8:30pm CT)

Recognize those who have helped further the profession of audiology through philanthropy and research while enjoying a seated dinner at the Honors and Awards Banquet.  Tickets are $40.00 for members and $25.00 for students and can be purchased with your AudiologyNOW registration.

Marion Downs Lecture in Pediatric Audiology (Fri., March 27 10:00-11:30am, CT)

Christine Yoshinaga-Itano, PhD, of the University of Colorado will present The Past, Present and Future: Developmental Outcomes for Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.  Earn .15 CEUs at this session or, for those unable to attend AudiologyNOW!, view a live Web seminar of the lecture through eAudiology.  The presentation will also be available on-demand.  Philanthropic support provided by The Oticon Foundation.

Student Research Forum (Fri. March 27, 1:00-2:30pm CT)

Get a glimpse of the future as five young researchers share their work with the audiology community.  Philanthropic support provided Plural Publishing.

James and Susan Jerger Award for Excellence in Student Research (Fri., March 27, 1:30pm CT).

Join poster presenters as they share their knowledge and findings with their fellow audiologists during the Clinical and Research Poster Reception.  Select posters submitted by students will be chosen for the James and Susan Jerger Award for Excellence in Student Research.  Poster research awards are funded by an anonymous donor.

Topics in Tinnitus Lecture (Fri., March 27, 3:00-6:00pm CT)

Esteemed researcher, Dirk De Ridder, MD, PhD, will present Pathophysiology-Based Treatments for Tinnitus. Rio San Antonio Scholarship Benefit with Oticon: Everyone needs to take an occasional break from the exciting education and research at AudiologyNOW!,  and we think a Rio San Antonio River Cruise is just the ticket!  A Rio San Antonio River Cruise ticket will be available to all registered conference participants at the Oticon booth, AND Oticon will make a donation to the Foundation Empowering People Scholarship Program for each ticket distributed during the conference!   Oticon has set a goal  to raise $25,000 in donations to enable AAAF to award five $5000 scholarships to graduate students earning AuD or PhD degrees in audiology, so help us meet this goal by participating in our philanthropic partnership. 

Academy Research Conference Scholarships (ARC): The Foundation subsidizes registration that enables deserving students to attend the ARC meeting held the first day of AudiologyNOW!

Member Assistance Program (MAP): Audiologists experiencing financial hardship are provided conference travel assistance through the MAP. Philanthropic support provided by Auban, Inc. and Oaktree Products, Inc.
